How Decide Powers Document Extraction for PharmacyOS
The pharmaceutical distribution space is a game of speed. A lapse of even a few seconds can create a situation where an order is sent to a competitor.

PharmacyOS builds operating systems for pharmaceutical distributors.
Across its customers, PharmacyOS receives around 80 to 100 orders each day. Roughly 20 to 25% arrive as handwritten documents, alongside order images and receipts. Every order needs the right details extracted for the team to process it, including the drug name, dosage strength, dosage form, and packaging size.
Before Decide, PharmacyOS used Gemini to extract this information. The team found that general-purpose models could be inconsistent when extracting every parameter its software needed to process an order correctly. Cost per call was also not ideal at scale.
PharmacyOS evaluated Decide’s image and document extraction API because it needed more than text transcription. It needed usable information in a consistent structure, including a clear way to handle documents where an expected detail was absent.
The ability to extract the required order details in the right arrangement, while identifying missing information, stood out in the evaluation.
For pharmaceutical distributors, the value is speed and clarity. Faster processing helps teams respond to orders before customers look elsewhere, while clearer outputs give operations teams a stronger foundation for review and fulfilment.
